CONTROL
OF THE TEMPLE MOUNT GIVEN TO GENTILES
“Temple reconstruction was no
issue until 1967, when Israel recaptured
the mount and the Old City. Eager to preserve peace, Israel continues
to allow Muslims to administer the site."Time Magazine, October 16, 1989
CONSIDER: 2,600 years ago, Ezekiel prophesied that Israel would give the “uncircumcised” (non-Jews) control of the Temple Mount. After the Six Day War of 1967, rulings by the Israeli courts gave Muslims control of this site. EZEKIEL
44:6-9
6
And thou shalt say to the rebellious, even to the house of
Israel,
Thus saith the Lord GOD; O ye house of Israel, let it suffice you of
all your abominations,
7 In that ye have brought into my sanctuary strangers, uncircumcised in heart, and uncircumcised in flesh, to be in my sanctuary, to pollute it, even my house, when ye offer my bread, the fat and the blood, and they have broken my covenant because of all your abominations. 8 And ye have not kept the charge of mine holy things: but ye have set keepers of my charge in my sanctuary for yourselves. 9 Thus saith the Lord GOD; No stranger, uncircumcised in heart, nor uncircumcised in flesh, shall enter into my sanctuary, of any stranger that is among the children of Israel. These facts prove that the context of Ezekiel’s vision is the last days: 1. The Temple of Ezekiel’s vision
was never constructed. Its dimensions do not match any Jewish Temple in
Jewish history.
2. God comes to the earth through the East Gate of Ezekiel’s vision (Ezekiel 43:1-2.) Obviously, God (in the Messiah) has not returned to the earth yet. 3. Ezekiel foresaw a waterway that links the Dead Sea with Red Sea (Ezekiel 47:1-12). This canal was never constructed, therefore, Ezekiel’s vision is of a future time. 4. The land of Israel will be divided among the 12 tribes of Israel (Ezekiel 48.) Ezekiel 45:8 reveals that when this occurs, the “princes” (or rulers) of the world will no longer oppress Israel. Of course, Biblical prophecy asserts that Israel will face enemies until Jesus returns. THE
“SANCTUARY” OF ISRAEL
According to the King James Version, the “uncircumcised” will be given “charge” of the “Sanctuary.” In the Hebrew, the word translated “Sanctuary” is from “miqdash," which means: “a sacred place” or “a holy place.” This word may or may not refer to a physical building, depending upon the context. Without argument, the entire Temple Mount in Jerusalem is the holy place of Israel. Therefore, when we read that the “uncircumcised” will be given charge of the “holy place,” this does not mean that they will be given charge of the Jewish Temple. In fact, the language of the text distinguishes between the “holy place” and the “house of God,” the latter term obviously referring to the Temple itself. The King James translation makes it appear that the “holy place” and the “house of God” are one and the same, by the insertion of one italicized word. We read: “...to be in my sanctuary [Holy Place], to pollute it, even my house...” (Verse 7)” Notice that the word “even” is in italics. This means that it was not part of the original text, but was added by the translators, to clarify what they thought was the meaning of the passage. This one italicized word leads the reader to believe that the “holy place” and the “house” are the same. However, two different words are present in this passage, to distinguish between the “holy place” and the “house of God.” The house or Temple sat on a portion of the Temple Mount, not all of it. Yet, the entire Temple Mount is the “holy place” of Israel. THE
“STRANGERS” IN THE MIDST OF ISRAEL
The word translated “Stranger” comes from two Hebrew words. The first word is “Ben” which means “descendant,” “son” or “grandson.” This word conveys the idea of kinship. The second word is “Nekar” which means “foreigner.” Therefore, the literal translation is “sons of foreigners.” Next Page: Temple Mount Given to the
